Neverwhere, the Author’s Preferred Text by Neil Gaiman
Tradepaperback – William Morrow – Jun2016
Richard Mayhew, a young London businessman, discovers a girl bleeding on the sidewalk. he stops to help her, and his ordinary life is changed forever as he is plunged into a world he never dreamed existed.
Neverwhere was first written in 1996 alongside the BBC Two production of the TV series, with many of the dropped scenes or dialog tucked back into the novel. A year later a slightly longer version was released in the USA. Now in 2015, Gaiman has combined the best of all of his drafts into a new Author’s Preferred Text, and included the bonus short story “How the Marquis Got His Coat Back”.
