Speculations Reading: Peg Kerr
On Wednesday, August 20, from 6:30-7:45 p.m, PEG KERR reads from her work.
With $50.00 from her first paycheck from her first job out of college, Peg Kerr registered for a science fiction and fantasy writing class. There, she met her husband and wrote the first story she ever sold. In hindsight, this was all quite pleasant consolation for the fact that she was fired from her job the day the class started. She attended the Clarion Writers Workshop in 1988 and holds an M.A. in English Literature, with a specialization in speculative fiction. Her short fiction has appeared in various science fiction and fantasy magazines and anthologies. Her first novel, Emerald House Rising, was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award. Her second, The Wild Swans, was a finalist for the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature and a co-winner of the Gaylactic Spectrum Award for best novel.
The Speculations Readings Series is a co-production of DreamHaven and SF Minnesota, a speculative fiction organization.
